Why a movement studio?
Often folks refer to us as a “yoga studio” - which is kind of funny, considering Strengthen is our most popular modality. “Yoga” itself is a huge concept. Often on this side of the world when we think “yoga” we really mean “yoga asana”, or the physical practice and shapes we tend to associate with the term “yoga”. In honor and celebration of these lineages that came before us and those that continue to evolve, Forth has and will always be a movement studio. Yoga asana is one of our four modalities, with our modalities serving as building blocks to move, meditate, experience, and explore.
We are always in motion, whether we want to be or not. When things are great or not so great, we are always moving Forth. What we do in our green room is train ourselves to move Forth better - physically and mentally.
P.S. We've been patiently awaiting this update: Milwaukee Ave construction from Diversey to Central Park is (for the most part) over! Enjoy the free parking while it lasts on our little strip! We are still waiting on a timeline to relay back to you all about when parking meters will be re-installed, but we assume it will happen once construction season resumes in Spring.
